Bird Conservancy of the Rockies' Bird Camps

Bird Conservancy of the Rockies' day camps are the perfect introduction to science and nature for youth ages 4-13. With a small staff-to-camper ratio, our Day Camps foster a positive learning environment through hikes, games, crafts, and outdoor play. For campers ages 10-13, we offer Progressive Camps, which allow campers to explore different ecosystems in depth. Day Camps take place at Bird Conservancy’s Environmental Learning Center in Brighton, CO and NEW in 2025 a session will be held at Lory State Park in Fort Collins, CO. Programs are led by a team of professional environmental educators.

Our Leader in Training program offers opportunities within day camp programs and beyond for teens 13-17 to cultivate their leadership skills through the mentorship of younger campers.

Our overnight camps offer a welcoming learning environment for kids who have aged out of our Day Camps, as well as pre-teens and teens who are new to Bird Conservancy’s programs. Overnight camps focus on honing campers observational and birding skills, learning from professionals in the field of ornithology, exploring the ecology of the Rocky Mountains, and much more! Overnight camps are located in Jamestown, CO and are led by a team of professional environmental educators.

Year-round camp programs include Youth Banding Weekend in October, designed to connect teens to bird banding science and Birds of Winter Camp during winter break. Family and Homeschool programs run concurrently during the school year with options for all ages.
